Kristin is not only a master improviser, she also understands implicitly how to teach others. She was able to program a class specifically aimed at our group’s level, and create a roadmap to success for our students. The key to strong improvising  is to keep things simple and be a good listener. Kristin guided our group in a terrific workshop that was fun, funny and filled with insight and powerful takeaways.

I highly recommend Kristin McCollum’s improv and vocal warm up workshop for anyone interested in team bonding, improving communication skills, and building confidence! Two years into the pandemic, our corps of docent educators at the Dallas Museum of Art needed a training to help us prepare for relaunching in-person field trips. As the former Manager of School Programs, I knew I felt out of practice working with students and that many on our team felt the same way. Moreover, we were all hungry for community, team building, and fun after months of virtual meetings.

Kristin delivered the perfect workshop to help us build back our confidence. The vocal exercises, body language awareness, and improv exercises she shared had even the shyest members of our team laughing, creating memories, and trying out the exercises. Kristin created a welcoming space, and made us all feel comfortable being playful and a little silly with each other. What’s more, we felt better prepared to work with students again after practicing how to warm up our voices, move our bodies mindfully, and engage with others through playful learning. I give this fun, tremendously helpful workshop my highest recommendation!

Adults can often be threatened by even just the thought of being in a group and having to improvise.  Kristin lowered everyone's anxiety and it wasn't long before the entire group was being silly, emoting and generally living in the moment.  Her style, knowledge and experience were a great addition to our conference!!!
